In shadows cast by towering tax,
Hope dims beneath the heavy axe,
Government's promises left in dust,
As poverty spreads, in them we trust.
Citizens' dreams, once bright and clear,
Now fade in the haze of doubt and fear,
Yet from despair, a call resounds,
