Withstanding Insults
What is that pains me
The humiliation I am going through
Is perhaps the thing that pains me?
The pain that I am being sidelined

Should it really pain me?
It should perhaps not pain me
For I have not sold my soul
Despite the intense attempts to bow me down

For I have stuck to my values and beliefs
And for what I do stand for
I only need to feel proud
That to gain acceptance I have not accepted slavery

For living in freedom also means living in pain
A pain built on a character with strong foundations
For I have not given up my core self
While withstanding the insults

No great souls haven’t not been succumbed to insults
Humiliation many in lives they have faced
For such experiences have only turned them to great souls
And fought to change the world

Those humiliation and insults
Will not do any damage to me
It will only bring out the best in me
Despite all the attempts at stopping so

Oppression can never break the souls
For many great lives in human history haven’t bowed
To those who have exhibited their power
On those independent souls
