Catch me
I am falling
There’s no safety net beneath
The wind is howling past me
As the ground I rush to meet
Your fingers brushed my safety belt
My life an inch away
All because I didn’t clip my belt on yet that day
Your face grew smaller as I fell
A strange calm overcame
I hit the ground so hard below
There was no time for pain
I slipped into the ether
That lies ‘tween this world and the next
I instantly remembered
Thinking ‘how could I forget?’
The knowledge from the other side
You carry deep within
Because I died so quickly
I was immediately let in
“ oh you’re the window cleaner who fell off the London Shard ?’
A gust of wind had caught me
knocked completely off my guard
“ yes that’s me I think although it’s kind of hard to tell ..
My fleshy bag turned inside out and splattered when I fell ”
My essence watched the cops get sick
As the EMs scraped me up
Bits of me forever in the concrete will be stuck
The hardest part of death is seeing all your loved ones cry
You know that you’d do anything
But you can’t say when you’ll die
