Yesterday they fought very hard,
Yesterday they shed a lot of blood,
And they regained our independence
from the ruthless Europeans.

May God bless our dear patriots!
May God bless our dear Pan-Africanists!
And may they live for
centuries in our hearts and souls.

Everyday we wake up to erase any artificial boundary on our continent,
Everyday we wake up to strengthen
the ancestral unity we share,
Everyday we wake up
to preach that black lives matter,
And everyday we wake up
to celebrate our achievements
in ending slavery of the black man,
Because on various occasions
they gave us a million reasons why.

Today our independence
is however at stake!
Today our identity is no more!
And so we must stand up
and act immediately.

Today we must strengthen our
ancestral norms and beliefs,
Today we must strengthen
an African common language,
Today we must strengthen
an African common religion,
And we must strengthen
Africa's art and drama.

Let's act before the sun sets!
Let's act because it's our responsibility!
Let's act because we must!

We must strengthen Africa's
education and research hubs,
We must strengthen Africa's
agriculture and manufacturing sectors,
We must strengthen Africa's
environmental and human health,
We must strengthen
Africa's population growth,
And all in all we must strengthen
the love for ourselves
and everything of African origin.
