“I love you as you are”
When I hear the sentence “I love you to pieces” I do not get the warm fuzzy feelings that are often described by others. It reminds me of a person loving another person in segments; In compartmentalised segments of who they are. I prefer to hear and to say, “I love you as you are”; Because when I tell a person I love them as they are; I am telling them that I love them as I am able to understand them and as who they are and who they choose to be. That doesn’t compartmentalise the person I love or segment them; Because when I love another person I choose to love them as they are.
