Human beings have a strange reaction to death indeed
No disrespect to the genuine ones, left behind to grieve
When a person is alive you count every cent you spend on them
When they die, you buy expensive flowers for their caskets, displaying a false love for them
When they were alive, you said how terrible they were
When they pass on, "he was such a good person, when I needed him, he was always there"
When they were alive you couldn't make a phone call to check how they were doing
When they die, you make it your duty to attend their funeral, but its guilt,not love, you're displaying
When they were alive you promised to shoulder their burdens but your words were mere lies
When they're dead, you volunteer to carry their casket, on the very shoulder which couldn't handle the weight of their cries
So when you say you're sorry & regret that their lives have ended.. its not really true
What you're really sorry for & what you deeply regret too
is never saying sorry for the pain you caused them, simply because you were too proud to
