Damaged Goods
I loved her
More than
The words I have
To tell her so
Is that poetic
Or just a cruel
Injustice
I miss her
It comes in waves
Intermittently
And today
I find myself drowning
My emotions pounding
A desert island shore
Moonrise
And out I go again
The cycle of life
And it’s killing me
Her eyes
Aww the memory
They screamed to me
Imperfect perfection
I see heaven
But witnessed hell
Her pain
Persistent purgatory
I wished to unburden her
But never understood how
I’m no Father figure
I only wished to be sacred to her
But she lacked the faith
Damaged goods
Too far from the truth
Can the truth ever be told
To one with a deaf ear
She can’t even trust herself
Border walls
Protecting the illusion
Better safe than sorry
Sorry for what
A Love lost
Is love never held
Scary as fuck
But what a great way to die
Fear of the lost
Is a fear of the living
Perverse protectionism
A pickled heart
Torshi waiting for winter
Cold and weathered
And good for nothing
Other than
Self-preservation
Me I’ll take the loving and losing
And live with the missing her
Over the never having loved
Happy to have rode
Her wave
