A Perilous Perception
When walking up moutains
We worry not for our shoes
Alas on flat plains
We see dirt on what was once new

We are designed to see
The problems at hand
Rather than the blessings
On which we stand

A new view
We must force ourselves to find
For we a programmed
To a problem-solving mind

A blessing
No matter how large or small
Can be found in every moment
Regardless if we rise or fall

Persistence is key
For we all fall back
To view the problem
And the solutions we lack

A mind's war
Will forever wage
Unless we force ourselves
To break this rhythm, these chains

A perilous journey,
Our natural behavior against us
This cycle will continue
Without persistence and self-trust

We must first believe
In order to achieve
An unbridled, new light
That overshadows, our current night
