Yen Aspirations

As the golden hues of twilight adorned the park
I embarked on a leisure stroll,
on a quest for enlightenment,
indulging in a flighty caprice.

Lo and behold,
Amidst the symphony of birds chirping and
flapping wings,
I espied a woman singing, whole and at peace.
Her lashes were like fans above her cheeks,
A slight breeze was blowing her hair around,
her eyes glowed like blue coals glistening,
Her glorious regard strung like pearls
as I unveiled an eyeful of her,
our eyes finally did meet,
My heart sank like an ice stone that was dropped,
yet, glittered in the Greenland Sea.
Like a star,
I saw love's pure face look down,
then look back up with jewels that gleam in a
baby's eyes,
With a face adorable, sparkling-like
summer's beams on summer's streams,
notoriously frail, yet inspirational and cloyingly sweet.
Love smiled back like an unclouded Sun,
warm as dawn to me.
She reapt the breath I held, away,
she just wasn't aware.
If breath was needed
in the life I lived before that moment,
I no longer cared.
Her beauty was unparalleled,
An enchantress with grace so divine.
At that moment,
No one could have convinced me otherwise,
That she was meant to be mine.
Although, I once felt love at first sight couldn't be real,
At that moment, I felt it deep in my heart,
So I could no longer deny,
even at this very moment, what I still, feel.
I was struck by her love, so pure and visibly true,
Breathing as if I'd been brought back to life,
my heart beat anew.

She walked toward me, like an angel in disguise,
her bare feet never touching the ground,
I float likewise, mesmerized.
The closer she drew, the more she began to fade,
Then one's memories began to be reapt,
leaving promising love unmade.

As slowly as she came,
She disappeared like a fleeting flame.
I frantically searched, but she had gone,
Leaving me with thoughts of what could have been.
What all went wrong?
Whether it was a figment of my imagination
or just a sign of fate's creation
with a hurtful closer,
The heart that had been revived began to falter,
Then it began to race
As I awoke from the dream
with heartache written on my face.
I'll never know for sure what could have been,
or what that dream means.
But I'll always remember every second,
of what I'd seen.
I'll always hold onto that memory,
longing for the empressement of that Sunset,
Not only her wander and elegance,
It's the emotions, sensations, and sentiment
In one’s waking moments,
That I'll always treasure,
That I'll never forget.
