FORGOTTEN
I walked into the den of death, ignoring all the warnings,
Into the eye of the storm where my woman was waiting,
I endured all challenges that I could be strong for the both of us,
I acquired many attributes that I could pursue my love.
I learned to mask my emotions way before I got to her door,
And when I entered, what I saw was surely enough to take me back to square one, but I didn't show it,
I confronted her about it and she said it was nothing.
Here I was, trying to secure a future for us,
And you're here tampering with all of my works,
I expected alot of things but this came as a shock,
"Why didn't you wait for me?", I asked,
She replied, "I forgot".
My heart at that moment was shattered but my face remained blank,
She on the other hand showed no signs of empathy.
Walking away, she slammed the door at my face,
Heartbroken and angry, I laughed,
Pondering on the last words she told me.
Then I realized, "I had been forgotten".
