intoxicated, your gaze lingers
vivid eyes press against retina
her ghost everywhere

Your eyes meet
scorchingly bright
the fireworks sparked
hers flutter close in fright

Concealed side glances
soft exchanges of words
intimate on your tongues
between your parting lips

All of a sudden
your hands in her hair
her head on your chest
the swelling pain of fulfillment

First a reaching hand
light touches of promise
interwined, the rings' coolness
then arms tangled once again

Tenderly lifting her veil
you kiss away her tears
your laughters springing out
reflections in each other's eyes
