Contemplating The Great Filter Theory, To Cope With Our Lonesome
We are particulate, we don't need
another do-over on this fact.

Everything we may have touched may
not have gone through the sieve

yet, but it may mean that the worst
may have already been behind it.

Both are equally thrilling
as they are lonely.

Sweet Cosmos!
We might as well abandon continuum.

Though it's hard to consider
what the end might be,

harder to see the shrunk eye
our star would have left

after folding on itself,
eating its head of prominent heat.

Any good day in a billion years
and all that is made must make passage

in the annihilating white
before it must reunite

with the shutting dust.
