Africans were practicing slave trade among themselves
They sold the rejected as servants and slaves
To other villagers and elites who were willing to pay

In the olden days, there were slaves and there were outcasts
This was what gave rise to ‘ohu’ and ‘osu’
As an Igbo man if you commit taboo in the land
You will be banished and that will make you an osu
