She was never hard to love,
but hard to hold onto;
like a slippery slope
over sharpened rocks,
but it's the only spot
on the entire mountain
with a scenic view
worth capturing.

I took the chance.
I guess we'll see
if my feet will hold
or if the fall
will take me
instead.
