The Basement
In a dark room I sat
Without the sound of even a bat
On nothing but a mat
With no company but a cat
All in black
Without a care
There were cries in the air
It gave quite a scare
As there was no flare
Then I heard a bear
From the floor
I saw a door
At first I thought it was a lure
Then I saw more
Then I was for sure
That I could make it out
I thought without a doubt
I made sure not to shout
As made it past the snout
All the way out
On the way home
I saw a gnome
And a dome
Made of chrome
And I continued to roam
I sat on my bed
And ate some bread
With some spread
Then I went red
As the air whispered you are dead
I started to delve
And also dwell
Am I even myself
I started to yell
As I was in hell
