But When Grace Appeared
I tried to fight the law
the law killed me.
I tried to wear the immaculate robe of God's law
but soon the sweat of human nature soiled it.
A thousand strokes I took,
swimming against Law's many tides
only to die a thousand and one deaths.

Morality brought me first aid but failed.
Religion attempted a CPR
I was twice dead.
Humanism redefined
my Corpse and Coffin
as 'Self Expression'
Still, I felt lost!

But when Grace appeared:
I couldn't hear her voice
I couldn't see her charms
I couldn't meet her reach
I was very very dead
under the law of sin and death
Then Grace gave me His Life
and that made all the difference.
