Remember
Do you remember how it felt
when our bones did grow
Sometimes cards we’re dealt
aren’t ones we show
I remember your face
but it’s been some years
Windex on the mirror
still you won’t disappear
Like a whisper in the night
in those evergreens
Oh Lord what a sight
if you know what I mean
Now our bones grown up
and my mind does race
Went ‘n tossed the keys
to my heart’s briefcase
Spend my days down south
With a quiet mouth
I don’t doubt that you
Got your own demons
Try to figure out
Rain through the drought
Like a sprout watered
By its own reasons
Do you remember where
Breathing cool fresh air
Like a flare
In the dark night sky
Open eyes aware
In a fold up chair
Now compare
To these passers by
Do you remember back then
in that puget town
I remember your voice
still can hear the sound
