An Elegy to My Beloved Father
#WritcoPoemChallenge
In the cradle of your arms, love's tender hold,
A cherished memory of days gone by.
Oh, how I miss the stories left untold,
As grief's relentless waves crash 'neath the
sky.
You carried me through life's uncertain tides,
Guiding my steps with strength and gentle care.
But fate's cruel hand did part our intertwining
strides,
Leaving me with longing, burdened by despair.
But oh, how I wish death were not a part,
For it took you too soon, from my embrace.
The longing to hold you, to feel your heart,
An unfulfilled desire that time can't erase
Oh, how I wish I could feel your embrace,
To hear your voice, to see your loving smile.
To bask once more in your comforting grace,
And share with you the moments lost in time's
exile.
In this elegy, I honour your name,
Forever bound by love, your eternal flame.
