The whitest T-shirt I own
Wrinkles as I fold it,
I might get seasick, alone.

Stay composed and lenient,
Like a seashell,
Pour a cup of purple,
Just so I lean and binge it.

I am bad at speeches,
But I'm good at listening,
To the waves crash against the shore,
And the wind whisper in my ear.

I am bad at speeches,
But I'm good at feeling,
The warmth of the sun on my skin,
And the sand between my toes.

I am bad at speeches,
But I'm good at being,
Present in the moment,
And enjoying the simple things.

So if you ever ask me to give a speech,
Just know that I'll do my best,
And that I'm still learning,
And that's okay.

Because even though I'm bad at speeches,
I'm still good at being me.
