The Unrequited Love
I look at you look at the stars
Gleaming, burning; more like scars
that shine through the endless pain
And numb, in parts, my innocent brain

The pang of unrequited love
Reflected by the darkness above
Pierces my eyes with a fading hope
which dances meekly on thin-as-hair rope

The idea of being two bodies, one soul
Remains foreign to you like ancient folklore
My love buried beneath the tides of time
For you, shall always be a dozen a dime

I look at you look at me
Then watch you look through
Your eyes bear no traces of love
But all mine ever see is you.
