I never did like onions
I don’t like how it feels in my mouth
I tried it once when I was small
But then quickly spit it out

And I never did try it again
And I said that I never will
so many years have passed since then
I haven’t changed my mind still

When I got out to buy fast food
I will always make sure and tell them before
No onions and mayonnaise, please
Then I will open it and double-check to make sure

But love can make us do funny things
Especially when your love is true
The girl I love says to me, that she loves onions
And I said to her ‘OMG’ I love onion too

When you are in love with someone
There’s nothing you wouldn't do
You will sacrifice anything
To show how much they mean to you

I guess at that moment I wasn't thinking
So, I put my foot in my mouth
Now I spend the whole day thinking
Of a way for me to get my foot out

She is the girl of my life
And making her happy is what I do
So, when she said she loves onions
Although I hate it, I said I love it too

And I have to go to her family’s home this Sunday
For dinner to meet her mother and father
And if everything goes well with them
I plan to give her a diamond ring after

she told me that her father is a chef
From a long line of chefs for generations

Now comes the time for us to have dinner
So, I ask for a separate plate
Then I start picking out the onions
From the dishes to put separate

They all were quiet and looking at what I was doing
And I know they were waiting for me to explain
So, I was trying to think of something fast
then an idea suddenly comes to my brain

So, I said to them “for me to enjoy eating onions
I have to be at home watching TV
So, I am taking these onions home with me
To eat tonight while I am watching C.S.I, Miami

Later that night I told my girlfriend
I don’t like onions and I’m sorry,
I thought she would have been sad,
But She said to me “you did all this just for me’
and she hugs me and drops a big sweet kiss on me
