My Letter of Broken Words - your toddler
#MothersDayPoem
The fragrance of my childhood,
Hides in the folds of your embrace,

You remained nonchalant on my toddling slowly,
at my own pace…

With Itsy-bitsy hands I spilled my meals time after time,
You scolded daddy when he recorded my reactions,
When I made squeezed up expressions after licking lime..

Despite barbie attires you dressed me like a boy,
Rather than whispering magic spells,
you handed me a gun toy…

Be it yelling, be it crying you inculcated all my jibber-jabber,
Between my broken words you too mimicked,
And became an adorable little stagger…

I pooped and spewed all around,
You made sure I was well covered when daddy took me,
For a walk in the ground…

You drove my stoller steadily on the steeps,
You sang soft lullabies for your angel,
So that she can sleep…

Making sure I was well fitted in my car seat,
You managed office creche and home,
As daddy likes tidy and all neat…

I am 18, still you handle my frenzies,
You smile by heart,
As if your dictionary has no word like MISERIES…

The fragrance of my childhood,
Hides in the folds of your embrace..
You remained nonchalant on my toddling slowly,
at my own pace…
