winter lonesome

My one and only, you're the one to hold me,
But purple skies collide.
The other holds the warmth of another sky.
The prisoner lost his heart to unsharpened knives.

The spotlight, once significanted,
Now shimmers amongst another's eyes.
The moth has found another light.
She leaves him alone in winter;
He can't help but hide in plain sight.
Why have you left him alone in winter?
A lonesome heart will always have wondering eyes.

Crowds and open closet doors,
It's a play for the monster that comforts
When the sun tells lies.
He lay inside his mind a thousand miles away,
He strays far behind.
The man looks for the fork and the knife.
My one and only, why did you leave me behind?
