Am I afraid of dying?
I don't quite know...
That was never the point
So what is?
Death is an inevitable ending;
A Resolution, closing argument,
An epilogue.
To the story that is your life
Will it be a tragedy?
A comedy, a satire?
A series of melodramatic events?
What ending would you be given?
We all have some power
Are accorded some decency and courtesy when we die:
We may have a hand in how it all fades to black
But ultimately, never will it be,
Truly
Our choice to make
So when the door is knocked on
And the files are handed to you,
Courtesy of the heavens or of hell
You be sure to let them know, you were grateful
For time, or lack of
Either way, it may influence the way you go,
Taking it in stride, dealing with grace...
