She floats like a dream,
Before she sinks under,
Carrying in her folds,
The dying cries of the soldiers.

We must have great respect,
For they gave their lives for us,
To ensure we sleep in peace,
And have an existence cloudless.

They are our true heroes,
Leaving their loved ones, to us protect,
Facing the harsh realities along the way,
Making sure nothing does, us affect.

Owing them every bit of gratitude,
Than we can ever offer,
While we sit in the comfort of our homes,
They face adversities and misery altogether.

Even when death comes to take them,
They go with pride and valour,
Soft tears are seen, lots left incomplete,
Hardly an age to go, my heart does pour.

God chose this path for them,
For he knew only they could do justice,
Only the bravest heart can endure,
Indebted we are to our soldiers who are ageless.
