Those Good Old Days.
#Unrequitedlove

A blanket of words covers up,
Your picture that I have of you,
In my heart.
And in some corner of my mind's archives,
I picture you,
In those olden days!
When you and I were young!

It was the festival of colours!
As you walked up to me,
My Mom popped in a sweet in your mouth!
My hands had all the colours just for you!
As you asked me to wait,
"Let me have the sweet", you said,
As you looked into my eyes with a smile,
As I waited mesmerised, by the moment,
And that moment never ended,
Till you closed your eyes in smiling acceptance!
I smeared the colours of spring on your face!
The colours that were waiting for so long!
Just like my hands dying to feel you.
As I gently coloured my heart of love..
For the last time!
And now after dying a million deaths!
I am living, miles away like that known stranger,
That may pass by your fleeting glimpse,
With an unhugged hug and an unkissed kiss!
When you close your eyes now unknowingly!
Yes I am that person that needs no introduction!
So you may prefer me anonymous,
As you hold another man's hand and smile,
And your son takes that snap,
On your wedding anniversary,
That falls on my birth day..
A few thousand miles away..
My daughter pops in a piece of cake in my mouth!
And my wife smears it's cream on my face!
Requited love feels like a favour from Grace,
When unrequited it gets absorbed in place!
