To the General:
To you, the General,
You made up your mind
When you left me in my
Unopened box, confined

To wear a silk dolly dress
In a ditch on the street
With the girl who saved pennies
To make me complete

To you, the General,
You made up your mind
Long before you returned
Some years later to find

You were suddenly happy,
Proud of who i became
Your words were still empty
And your heart was the same

To you, the General,
I was too scared to speak
When you roared and growled
At each floorboard creak

You took dreams from my hands
Until all hope was lost
You said I am weak
And you won't pay the cost

To the General:

I am not your second chance
To show the world that, at a glance,
You have a legacy to bring you pride
You're hardly ever by my side

I am not your well-earned golden star
You don't win trophies at the bar
I have far too much love for myself
To sit upon your dusty shelf

I'm not some doll made of silicone,
I'm a human being of my own
But if I was, one thing's true
That doll would not belong to you

I am not your house maid,
I am not your shining blade,
I am not your angel light,
I am not your pretty sight,
I am not your chess pawn,
I am not your dancing swan,
I am not your silicone doll,

Because I am your nothing at all.
