I Loved Them From The Very Beginning

I Taught My Boy The Simple Things In Life
Catching Fire Flies And
Climbing Trees
And At Sometime It Was Dark
My Time With Him Was Special To Me

I Worked Hard To Help Him
In His Life
I Know He Was Grateful That I Loved Him That Much
I Somehow Thought I Could Change Things One day
His Mental Illness I Couldn't Touch

My Son Is Living A Life Of Spender
Just Like I Told He Would Some day
Although My Heart Has Been Broken
He Wouldn't Come Back Here To Stay!

He's Happier Than He's Ever Been
I Wish I Could Feel The Joy In His Heart
But I know That Day Could Come Maybe Soon
And We'll Never Again Be Apart!
