Strength
In one word I am able to describe all that I lack
All that I wish to have
I find myself on the edge of sanity looking for strength to pull myself back up
Looking for strength to keep my voice down
And to not scream for help
Looking for strength to hide my underlying frown..
Red
In one color I am able to describe all that I see
All that i wish I could ignore
My vision being blurred in red
Why?
Because red symbolizes anger and fear and pain
Because as I cry out
As I let my emotions show
Even for a second
I see people get annoyed
Angry
Blaming it on attitudes and unsolicited animosity
Failing to realize that I've only began to peel off my mask
I understand now that what lies underneath is too ugly and bare for people to stand
So I'll replace my mask
With a newer, shinier, brighter one to distract you.
