Falling through darkness
Neon sparks dance on oil slicks
Candlelit flickers

Faces known, unknown
Gestured smirks melt into frowns
Surreal, half-lucid

Midway on a scene
Dropped in with unrehearsed lines
Bastions of wonder

There’s no time at all
To explain just where it went
Eyelids rise, moon falls
