Stray Cat
Rain under the grey night sky
Showers over my frail body
As a hungry stray cat I cried
Help me, please, somebody

The alley behind pitch black
The streets ahead lightless
Wether I look to front or back
Past or future, all is hopeless

When I was a kitten
They chased me throwing stones
From hunger and pain, weakened
As cold air pierces my bones

Today all kids and bypassers
Noticing my scars
Saying it'll will get better
Lies! Their kind treated me harsh

I hiss and claw,
Or escape to the sewers
Not a meow escape my jaw
Though day by day I'm getting worse

A man in black appeared that day
Seems unnoticed, and unaware
He came to my way
Kneeled down with care

Again I hissed and clawed
But not a scar inflicted
He sees me broken and flawed
And my eyes conflicted

The midnight ghost
Came with a breeze
To I, a strayed cat lost
In winter night's freeze

He cupped me in his palm
and grazed my fur
For the first time I stayed calm
In a stranger's arms I curled

"Let's go home" he said
Carrying me to his cozy bed
By the fireplace I laid
Comfortable and well fed

For my nine lives
I would spend here
Our love will strive
Throughout the harsh years
