THE GIRL HE DESIRED
With fiery red locks, she captivated his gaze,
her laughter painted his days,
in her tenderness, he found solace.

One morning's breeze,
she gracefully rested on her verandah
with a wasp waist finely bred.

Drawing near, his intent revealed,
yet, before his words could make their plea,
She said, "Sorry, not meant to be."

His courage wavered, and with teary eyes,
he spoke, "Fancied you endlessly, this I know.
If you choose to leave, depart if you must,
Yet I'll persist, in love or wanderlust."
She never turned, so I heard!
