Behind the bonfire
The lips I used to kiss long back
now smile back
from behind the bonfire.
Those eyes I used to dwell into for hours
now play hide and seek
with my short glances.
I didn't expect to see you tonight
beneath the naked stars
After all, I had abandoned
the memories of you long back
But maybe fate
has given us a second chance
I can feel the butterflies flutter
faster than ever before.
And I sing our song with
the cracklings of the wood
and my old guitar.
And you rest on your arms
dreaming into me.
As everything else fades,
everyone else disappears.
I am in love again
as I sit across you
behind the bonfire...
