I am in a hurry today
Hurrying to take on tough life
With a grim, grumpy face.

To the gracious God,
I mouth a short prayer.
To my next-door neighbour,
I say a snappy “G’morning!”

Inside the bathroom,
I throw up the ice cold water,
Collect it with my warm back
And rush out, wrestling with my coarse towel.

For my brief breakfast,
Instant noodles and instant coffee.
Yet, time seems to have taken on wings...
