Fragments of Affection
In love's cruel dance, I stood by your side,
Even when shadows of doubt made you hide.
Through your darkest hour, I held your light,
Yet, in return, I gained only the plight.

Funny, isn't it? Love's twisted game,
Promises shattered, hearts left to flame.
Despite the torment, my love stayed true,
But in the end, all I received was rue.

Years of devotion, bonds with your kin,
Now shattered dreams, where do I begin?
How do I tell them it's all come to naught,
That love's sweet melody has turned fraught?

How do I explain the ache in my soul,
The pain of a heart that's lost control?
How do I muster the strength to sever,
The ties that bind, now they falter forever?

Yet, amidst the sorrow, a flicker remains,
For grandma's smile, through tears and stains.
I'll brave the agony, though it tears me apart,
For love's legacy etched within my heart.

But did I deserve this anguish, this woe,
After all the love I chose to bestow?
In the end, perhaps, the answer's unclear,
Yet still, I'll rise, despite the fear.

For in love's demise, there's strength to find,
A phoenix reborn from ashes confined.
Though scars may linger, and memories ache,
I'll journey forth, for my own sake.
