the brain is a sponge
full of pores and clumps
soaking up memories and thoughts
learning new things and willing for more

the heart is a red truck
a place constantly changing
it's hard to feel safe
the driver is impatient

with each and every beat
the more tired it becomes
more red and ready to bleed
heavy and bulbous

the brain scrubs the heart clean

the brain works stringently
it forgets about itself
the heart makes the brain drain away
drips dropping with a clean finish

a destiny, a dream, a goal, gone
the brain quickly scurries and moves on
collecting more thoughts as if it will change
before the heart calls for its help again

the heart is greedy for vanity galore
the brain is now frail and poor
was the distress of the heart
a worthy cause?
