Delusion
It amazes me how delusional humans are,
For reality eludes me to this day.
Differentiation between that which is at hand, and dreams from afar,
Fades, painting all, a shade of gray.
No longer is anything black, nor is it white.
A shadow in the distance, I can make it out but not quite.
It seems not a crown of thorns, rather a much needed respite,
But I know not, when to trust my eyes and when to act despite.
No longer can I tell what's real, or if it's fake.
Where I'm going and for who's sake.
How long I've been treading and when am I to catch a break.
If the wind takes them anyway, worthless leaves, why do I so greedily rake?
