Window Sill
I can feel the love still;
I thought it would pass by now,
like hard rain in a thunderstorm rushing down down a window sill.
For love that I felt so deep;
Last night when I kissed your picture goodnight;
If I'd only known that when I awoke from my sleep;
That all would change so fast, even to give my heart some painful fright.
I realize now, I must have been blinded;
Maybe even a bit simple minded;
By what I saw as love yesterday;
Is not what is in this current moment;
In the late afternoon, as the sun drops down over the bay;
I realize my heart is not easy to sway.
As I head into the evening, I must let it rest.
For to go to sleep on heartache is anything but blessed.
May the Lord bless you, with happy life and good will;
As I end this chapter watching thunderstorm rain run down my hearts window sill.
