Summer Sun
At last, summer
This year, a broken Sun waits
while the Moon enjoys their presence.
It was intended to be Sun’s season,
everyone is advised to admire its beauty
as it rises and rests.
But they anticipate the Moon’s arrival,
watching it awaken
with their backs to the Sun.
They expect the weather to be just as warm
as years prior
but the Sun began to dim.
The leaves parish with beauty as their lives
give out.
Earth froze over,
only the Moon’s light shined above.
They dreaded summer,
everlasting and dark.
Everyone missed the Sun.
