Ashes of Heart
I walk down the grand staircase
that witnessed the tales of us
Steps I take down the stair
With my fingers rub the oak handle
The thick layer of dust lingering
To the fall of my gown
As I exit through the door
The memories of our past
Slowly swell up my heart
Wells my eyes with tears
Weakening my body from its core
Falling to my knees like that day
When all the dreams shredded
Into small pieces of fabric
That were woven with threads of love
And began to burn the house of dreams
Leaving back only the ashes of a broken heart
As I bring forth the same
Flowers you presented me
On the night of our union
To your grave to announce my departure
From this land forever
