I Remembered, Maa ...
I remembered
What you taught.
I got up again
And fought.
Yet, I failed to pass.
Closed my eyes,
I sat and thought
With a little depressed mind,
"I know, winning and losing
Is all what Life's about."

When opened my eyes,
You were sitting by my side, I found.
With those wrinkled fingers of yours,
Quivering with love,
Struggling to reach my dirty hairs,
To dust them, make them tidy.
I guessed.

To lessen the efforts of your striving hands,
My head to your lap, I bought.
And suddenly remembered
Of the pillow I slept on for hours
When I was just a
Nascent assemblage of flesh and blood.

Today too,
Even after travelling through
Soft and harsh experiences of Life,
When I settled my mind on your lap.
The pillow I missed,
The pillow I kissed, and cried for,
Your hands were able to reach
Where they were aspiring to contact.

Oh!
The contact of those hands with my head,
Healed every wound, repaired the despaired.
Which mumbled the words,
"The sheath never complains
Of the pain it gains
When the sword glides over
it's inner soul;
All the suffering and scratches
Are for the internals,
Yet reflects it's beautiful strength
Outside, as a whole."
You smiled with moist, shimmering eyes.

The five minutes' conversation
With you, gave me salvation
From all the stress and anxiety.
And those five minutes gave me,
Of all time, the greatest lesson.
"I know winning and losing
Is all what Life's about.
But a five minutes' nap
On your lap, is Heaven
Maa..."
