To Wither Not
She wasn't long for this weary world.
Her mind bewildered, it spun and whirled.
Not long in the tooth, but she was long in the chin.
And, too long she dwelled, for what might have been.

Her ups and downs weighed extra large.
She was downright out, and could not recharge.
Again and again, she was put to the test.
She was tired, dazed, and surely vexed.

Life took its toll, and she ran downhill.
The pain, not aided by drink nor pill.
Yet, angels knew what she did not,
for there awaited a heavenly slot.

To wither not, nor rot, or decay.
Her spirit passed and on her way,
she picked up the sad and forlorn ones,
who could not pass this world to beyond.
