It's Just a Joke
Ive tried to understand you
I've tried to listen to your words
but I get lost
when they no longer have no meaning
you say terrible things
that no one should have to hear
then say you meant no harm
that it was just a joke
but when I get choked up on my tears
and can't breath
you say learn how to take a joke
but you don't know how deep
that just cut me
you don't get to say rude words
and expect no anger
because you think being a jerk
and telling people to go kill themselves
is funny
and then think egging them on
is hilarious
teachers in elementary school would say
treat people the way you want to be treated
clearly that lesson hasn't sunk in
and you haven't matured
as you sit hear and you say you hate me
laughing and with a smile on your face
