Her
Through my cold skin, in the middle of night
When stars, nameless, trapped eternally
Effulged down upon my trapped cast
I felt fear which diurnally
Stopped my steps, froze my heart

Moments elapsed and I shrank into myself
Losing her, losing us to that which doesn't exist
Except only as thought or an elf
To affirm the madness to which I coexist
Stopping my steps, freezing my heart.

My spirit hanker for her love and touch
And to say, in the softest of tones known
Am only half a man, and her a nonesuch
And I, with breath still in me-
Will love her till time stops my steps-
Or freezes my heart.
