As I Die
As I die, don’t tell me I lived
As the sun would shine, as the moon would give
In a painless acquisition, I stole their lives
As the darkness reigned, in the stains contrived
As I waste, do not speak subtle
A single raindrop, in the heart of a tornado
And so I basked, in the glory of death
Holding nothing back, til there was nothing left
Don’t speak ill, yet don’t seek praise
We are all just dying, counting down the days
Basking eternal, in the sun’s unholy rays
Don’t be gentle, unphased
A blaze of glory, a dying light
Don’t go gentle, into that calm night
The eye of the storm, the cause of the many
Sifting through nothing, churning until empty
Do not care, of disregard
And when they leave, my body scarred
As I die, don’t tell me I lived
As the sun would shine, as the moon would give
