Our Home
Windows blown out,
shattered glass all about,
Like the stars in the sky
They paint a picture of what was.
Framework torn and weathered,
Unable to hold the weight
It aches and bends, and
Rumble it becomes.
Portraits with smiles wide
Hang crooked on the walls
That held so many secrets,
And sheltered lost souls.
Gone are the days celebrated.
Now are the nights spent cold,
The days spent with isolation
And time like a sloth gone by.
What once was could never be,
Once lost we may never see,
Again are the thoughts plenty,
Of a life once made for you and me.
