The Haunted Mask
It's all coming back to me,
I can still see it when I close my eyes,
My pain is stuck on replay,
And sometimes a little piece of me dies...

It's only the bad that's haunting me,
Those ghosts, they whisper in my ear,
It's only the bad that I can see,
And I'm afraid of losing myself...

Everything good in my life,
Everything I've ever loved the most,
It just twists and turns,
And fades away just like a ghost...

It's only the bad haunting me,
Wafting right before my eyes,
It's only the bad that I can see,
When I am left all by myself...

Sometimes I wish that I could cry,
That maybe someone would lend a helping hand,
But I've been down that road before,
And I'm too tired to take a stand...

It's only the bad that's haunting me,
And it follows my every day,
It's only the bad that I can see,
And it never leaves my side...

I've learned to let the demons out,
And wear a mask upon my face,
It keeps them all at bay,
And keeps my painted smile in place.
