Chivalry of love
As the music notes fill the room
As the air hits your lungs
Suddenly you've begun
Time moves by like ocean tides
Pulling in and out again
The clock ticks gently
Time passes by
You grow older with each second
The earth turns
Many try to take your hand and lead you into a dance
Some to cause illusions of romance
Some just want a chance
Sighs and a faint glance
Many are the illusionists of the mind
Few are the true hearts that with stand time
Shakespeare had it right
Love is an ever fixed mark
Yet many miss the bulls eye with a dart
The mask they hold is quite in the end cold
The fog rolls in
Then the sun breaks the mold
The temporary illusion gets exposed
And then there's no chance to walk as one and become old
Since the illusion fades
Then it dissipates
I just one one person's true heart and hand to hold
To love in truth and honesty
The chivalry of love in truth
Has become a rarity to behold
