Memories

I rambled down the dusty path
Looking far at the bullock cart
The wind blew softly on my face
As I wandered alone nothing to chase
There was a strange peace in my heart
In the midst of nature where the woods part
There was a huge tree with a wooden swing
On which children flew high without any wing
Memories of joy surfaced my mind
Bringing a slight smile on my face so kind
Then came fresh tears
Marking my grief on missing those blissful years
Friends and jokes and days of school
Homemade food and ice cream cool
And then reality hit me with a bang
For my cell phone rang
It was my mother’s call
And I was not at the mall
So, taking a last glance at the beautiful place
I bent down to fasten my shoe lace
I knew those days of past would never come back
All I could do was give my best and never lose my track
