The Golden Tomb
In the end it was just me and my thoughts,
A painful trap, long after you were gone,
Pulling me in, trapping me inside,
That golden tomb,
Shining brighter than a star crowned throne,
But inside, behold a nightmare,
Darker than a moonless night,
Perfect honey, or so it seemed.

Now she's like Babylon,
Filthy riches adorning her, head to toe
The stars sat at her feet,
Gazing at her, spellbound
But who knew, the darkness that brewed within?

Her gaze is like fire, that burns down her enemies and allies alike,
Her smile is twisted, curling and uncurling
Like a two-headed serpent,
Her laugh is like thunder, echoing in the tents of her lovers,

This is the tomb that trapped,
The woman whose smile bewitched,
After you were gone.
